Two Meanings

If we were to
(run)
we would
(skip)
through the fields
(,whispering)
time stops here
(,maybe,)
we'd have the time of
(our lives)
are wooshing by too
(fast_)
hope makes us
(last)
place isn't so bad considering
(the circumstances)
are only half of the battle it's the
(reaction)

Consult the Washing Machine

The world slips slowly from view,
I lose my grip.
Fall away.
Want to know the future?
The washing machine knows best.

Spin Cycle.

I've been here before and I'm
here now,
and for sure,
I'll be here again
No it will never
end
faster now,
pick up speed,
faster faster faster,
going 'round faster,
I
fall
down,
NOT FAIR
I scream as I'm pushed
and pulled
away from what I know and
who I was
and my past
oh the past!
It comes back,
don't you know?
Beware, beware,
it's one big circle!
So ha ha ha, Life,
I've figured you out,
you can stop this cruel joke now.
No?
Not fair.
Faster faster
it should end now
faster faster,
Tumbling around,
what's up?! What's down?!
I thought I knew but I don't so
faster faster,
faster faster,
faster faster,
I fall down.
faster faster,
faster faster,
faster faster
And abruptly it Ends.

Ding.

Pizza's ready.

A Not-So-Pleasant Walk In The Woods

When the brain gives up,
the heart takes over.
I've learned that's how it goes.

And you have this sick need
to -s-ingle me o-ut.
I say why, w-hy, wh-y
w-hat did I do to y-ou?
I can't remember.

So I wander through the woods,
used to be on a path.
You pushed me off.
(But I fought, by the way.)
I just wasn't as strong as I thought I was.

Meander I do,
twist and turn,
looking for the path again.
It's gone, or hidden from my view.
(Or something.)
Because I can't find it.

I'm lost.
I'm lost.
I'm lost.

You're just mean.
Because I am going to be something?
Because I am different?
Because I am me?
W-ell I g-ot n-ews f-or y-ou.
I will be something.
I will always be different.
I will always be me.

All you're ever going to be is mean.

You're mean.
I'm lost.
I'm lost.

Aren't you lost to?
Lost sight of what to do?
Where did you lose your way?
You're just like me.
(Dreadful thought, I know.)
We're both lost.
Are we that different?

You're mean.
You're lost.
You lost me too.

This is me feeling. Not
thinking.

If we work together, maybe we could
un-cover th-e pa-th.
We-'re lo-st.
lo-st.
I gave up (trying to reason)

When the brain gives up,
the heart takes over.
That's how I've learned it goes.

#14

It's another day,
flies by like the rest.

But the difference is
your smile your laugh you're everything
and you are the reason I woke up this morning
but of course I would never tell you that,
you see I'm just not that girl.

It's another day,
flies by like the rest.

But the difference is
my heart pounds I have butterflies I'm everything to you
and when I think about you I can't help but smile,
but of course I would never tell you that,
you see I'm just not that girl.

It's another day,
flies by like the rest,
but you make it Wednesday.

Freeze Frame

But I'm standing alone now,
and I used to know
the spot next to you
*is where I belong*

But I don't know anymore,
so rewind.
playback.
freeze.

Was it that night?
because I'm pretty sure
you said to me,
*I love you*

I don't know anymore,
so rewind.
playback.
freeze.

But I'm running away down a road
that I've gone down,
a millions of times,
*the flowers crying*

I don't know anymore,
so rewind.
playback.
freeze.

My feet carried me,
to that spot.
The place where we sat down,
*the wind combed my hair*

I don't know anymore,
so rewind.
playback.
freeze.

YOU said I was beautiful.
YOU said you loved me.
YOU said I was perfect.
YOU said you loved me.
YOU said we would last forever.
YOU said you loved me.

But I don't know anymore,
so rewind.
playback.
freeze.

rewind.

playback.

freeze.

One Million and One

I'll run inside
-open the door-
and the screen slams shut
(as my father told me not to do)
a million times.

And I'll run in the house
-fly up the stairs-
no hands on the railings
(as my mother told me not to do)
a million times.

So I'll go to my room
-throw the door closed-
and the whole house shakes
(as my father told me not to do)
a million times.

I'll cry on my bed
-sobs become screaming-
not caring who hears
(as my friends told me not to do)
a million times.

I'll remember
-my mind plays a movie-
here comes the sad song
(as my mother told me not to do)
a million times.

I'll be drowning
-gasping, clawing for air-
twenty feet under
(as you told me not to do)
a million times.

And I'll be shattering
-a hundred tiny pieces-
there I go
(as my father told me not to do)
a million times.

So I'll be there
-but not really-
drifting off slowly
(as they told me not to do)
a million times.

I'll be one million and one
-stronger than ever-
learning, not trusting
controlling
believing.
breathing.
*living*
(as I tried to tell myself to do)
a million times.

without a Ceiling

Encased within
four strong walls,
without a Ceiling
so close
but yet so far.

Tasting the glory,
unseen
except by me.

I just want you to know who I am.

Lollipops and Bakers' Chocolate

It's all a game
this thing called life.

Start at square one,
roll the dice- take a chance.
advance.
Stop at square five,
pick the card- take a chance.
advance.
Stop at square thirteen,
betray the friend- take a chance.
advance.

chance.
chance.
chance.

Stop at square twenty,
betray the friend- take a chance.
to no avail.
Stop at square thirteen,
pick the card- take a chance.
to no avail.
Stop at square five,
roll the dice- take a chance.
to no avail.

End at square one.

Lose?

It's all just a game,
this thing called life.

Not A Love Poem

I promised myself I'd never write a Love Poem.
I'm simply not that kind of girl.
But:

A sweet melody
softly swings from
my window,
across the terrace,
down the vines.

It skips down the driveway,
under twinkling stars,
drifting father and farther
from the
sidewalk.

A sweet melody
softly sweeps from
my heart,
down through my shoes,
dances across the floor.

It flies and it soars,
content but longing
looking for one other:
the missing piece to the puzzle,
the last note of the song.

A sweet melody
softly swung from
my window,
across the terrace,
climbed down the vines.
A sweet melody
softly swept from
my heart,
through my shoes,
and danced across the floor.

Stepped off the sidewalk
under the twinkling stars.
Swung and swept over to you.
We danced in the street with no music on,
Me?a little nervous. A little unsure.
Your arms are the puzzle piece
(I've been searching for forever)
The sidewalk: my doubts
(I've been searching forever)
Last note of the song:
your voice.
whisper softly in my ear.

I promised myself
I'd never write a love poem.
I'm just not that girl.

...but I've been wrong before.

Figuring 'it' Out

from blue to yellow
from yellow to orange
from orange to red
from red to black
from black to silver
silver to twinkling.

from sparkle to infant
from infant to child
from child to teen
from teen to adult
from adult to wise
wise to lost

from sorrow to lonely
from lonely to needy
from needy to needed
from needed to loved
from loved to forever
forever to ever.

from lost to empty
from empty to satisfied
from satisfied to full
from full to happiness
from happiness to nirvana
nirvana to end.

(and time flies Bye)

)but the memories still remain(

slow down,
take a breath
time is short.
listen close:
the :music; won't last.

Four Walls

Did you know,
aerodynamically,
the bumblebee shouldn't be able to
fly?

It takes a little time
to undo the shackles
on my wrists.

Maybe I'm trapped
within four walls
without a hope in sight.

Or maybe I'm not
for nobody has told me
what my destiny truly is.

destiny?

So why does the bumblebee fly?

Unseen

Eight billion.
Seven hundred.
Fifty six.
Or something along those lines. ()

Un(seen) as the warm breeze.
Un(seen) as the world.
Un(seen) as hope.
Un(seen) as the world.

Eight billion.
Seven hundred.
Fifty six.
Or something along those lines.

From where I am
It seems I stand,
Pretty much Un(seen).

Eight billion.
Seven hundred.
Fifty six.
Or something along those lines.

Eight billion.
Seven hundred.
Fifty six.
Or something along those lines.

8,000,756.

(and all you need is one)

Warm Gun

Found a blue book,
Broken blue spine.
A poem in the cover,
Didn't even rhyme.

It was by a boy about his father
Who went off to the war.
It was about how the hatred
Cut him to the core.

Killing innocent people,
Death at his hand,
Father trudged on.
Following every order, following every command.

Bible in his pocket,
Picture of his son
But nothing could give him hope,
Until the war was finally won.

In the barracks at night;
He cried and cried.
People spoke of war being glory:
All of them lied.

"Why, oh why not love,
but hate?
This world is ours,
think of what we could create."

But glory is power
and power is glory
And so must be
this sad World's story.

Happiness is a warm gun.
